Kevin Smith’s next film is Yoga Hosers, the Tusk spinoff that’ll probably give him plenty of chances to make jokes aboot Canada. But after that he’ll be moving on to MallBrats, the totally necessary Mallrats sequel that mall fans have been clamoring for since 1995. According to Coming Soon, Smith is planning to start production on MallBrats in January, and he recently revealed on Facebook that he has finally found a mall bratty enough to act as the film’s setting. The lucky shopping center is Exton Square Mall in Pennsylvania, which the official website describes as “more than just a shopping and dining destination, it’s a place to meet, experience local culture in all its forms, socialize, and have fun.” (It will also soon be a place where you can buy weed from Jay and Silent Bob, we assume.) Exton Square Mall is anchored by Macy’s, Boscov’s, and Sears, and its food court includes a Taco Bell, a Cinnabon, and a Five Guys. Before you ask, Exton Square also contains a Hot Topic and a Spencer Gifts, both of which are conveniently located on the second floor.
MallBrats will star Jason Lee, Shannen Doherty, Jeremy London, Jason Mewes, Michael Rooker, Sven-Ole Thorsen, Renee Humphrey, Joey Lauren Adams, Scott Mosier, Ethan Suplee, and Stan Lee. Exton Square is located at the intersection of Routes 30 and 100, and it’s open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.
