Kirsten Dunst joins On The Road

Most likely adding fuel to the preemptive-dismissal fire, Kirsten Dunst will be joining the upcoming adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s On The Road, the Beat poet’s sexy cross-country romp about a couple of dudes looking to lose their virginity in Tijuana who run into complications when they meet up with divorcee Shelly Long. There’s no word yet on which of the few remaining substantial female characters Dunst will play—though the safe bet would be Camille, Dean Moriarty’s beleaguered second wife—but we already know that Marylou is out, that role having recently gone to Kristen Stewart. Perhaps while they’re working together they can finally agree on a universal spelling of “Kristen,” because this is going to get annoying.
