Kirstie Alley joins Scream Queens in a “brilliant and devious” role
Scream Queens will swap the cushy sorority environs of its freshman outing for the padded walls of some kind of mental facility in season two, where Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) remains in charge. The death-resistant dean is now running a hospital, with the help of whatever medical professionals are being played by John Stamos and Taylor Lautner. The Chanels are returning in some capacity, as well as the characters played by Keke Palmer, Niecy Nash, and Lea Michelle, among others.
Now the Ryan Murphy horror-comedy has found someone to corral the staff, and possibly prevent (or commit) a murder or two. Variety reports that Kirstie Alley has joined the cast as a “brilliant and devious” administrator at the C.U.R.E. Institute, which is where “fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation.” The Cheers star has led a couple of sitcoms and starred in a few reality series over the last decade or so, and recently guest starred on ABC’s The Middle. But it sounds like she’ll get to camp it up for Murphy when Scream Queens returns September 20.
