Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult fall in futuristic love in the Equals trailer

Love is complicated, no matter which time period you live in. 500 years ago, you had to deal with the possibility that your beloved’s family was feuding with your family. In the ’60s, you had to worry about whether or not your father would approve of the cute dancing boy you met during summer vacation. And apparently, in the future, we’ll have to contend with an oppressive society that outlaws emotions and makes everyone wear matching jumpsuits. That’s the situation presented in this trailer for Equals, which stars Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult as a pair of futuristic young people who break the rules and fall in love. Will they risk their boring-looking lives and matching jumpsuits just to feel something? Obviously, or else that would be a totally different movie. But will that risk pay off and they’ll finally get a chance to wear something else and make out or whatever? You’ll have to see the movie to find out.

Equals was directed by Like Crazy’s Drake Doremus, and it’ll be in theaters this summer.
