Kristen Stewart has a great idea for how to introduce a female Bond
Someone should cast Kristen Stewart as the next James Bond, or at least hire her to direct an installment of the long-running franchise. Stewart, in speaking with E!, has shared a pretty damn good idea for how to introduce a female incarnation of the beloved character. “You start off as the Bond girl and then you think it’s just the girlfriend and then you’re like, ‘Oh no, she’s actually [Bond],’” she explained. “In the trailer, it’s like him… and you’re like, bait and switch.”
E! was quizzing Stewart’s Equals co-star Nicholas Hoult about whether there’s any chance he’ll take on the debonair mantle once Daniel Craig steps down. While Hoult shrugged off the suggestion and advocated for Idris Elba, he also seemed pretty into Stewart taking on the part. “I’ll be like your Q,” he said. Now, Stewart can rock menswear with the best of them. But she’s not the first actress to float the concept of gender-swapping the legendary spy. Gillian Anderson has dibs, as she has already pitched herself as Jane Bond.
