Kristen Stewart to play not-quite Coco Chanel in Karl Lagerfeld short
We’re not sure how she managed to pull it off, but Kristen Stewart has built a career in Hollywood that is so reasonably respectable that someday we might even forget she was in those sparkly vampire movies. The latest move toward this sparkling, diamond-like future comes from Women’s Wear Daily (via People), which is reporting that Stewart will be starring in a new short film by Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld. For the short, Stewart will be playing an actor who is playing Coco Chanel in a fictional biopic, with Geraldine Chaplin playing a middle-aged Chanel who is apparently overseeing the fictional production of the fictional biopic. According to Lagerfeld, Stewart played her character as being “really, really mean” to the fictional film’s director and producer. Maybe she was offended by their constant references to sparkly vampire movies?
