Kristen Stewart to star in fashionable ghost story directed by Olivier Assayas
Continuing her quest to become the queen of indie films, Kristen Stewart has signed on to star in Olivier Assayas’s Personal Shopper, a film that is about fashion ghosts, we assume. Assayas penned the script, which is indeed being billed as a Paris-set ghost story that takes place in the fashion underworld. Assayas previously directed Stewart in Clouds Of Sils Maria, which led to Stewart being the first American actress to win France’s Cesar Award. Personal Shopper will reunite Assayas with Sils Maria producer Charles Gillibert, who says the film will be thematically similar to the Juliette Binoche and Stewart-starring indie, but with “a genre dimension.”
Personal Shopper will begin filming in the last quarter of 2015 in Paris, where Stewart stole hearts earlier this year with her Fashion Week look. It’s unclear whether Stewart’s character in Personal Shopper will be of the corporeal or spiritual form, but we choose to believe “fashion ghost” is her actual character description. Meanwhile, she’s also set to appear in every single independent film coming out for the next decade.
