Noted non-Sith Sith-lover Kylo Ren has seen the new Rogue One trailer, and he has a lot to say about it—a lot to say in that low, barely intelligible voice that makes him sound like a perpetually angsty teen. Auralnauts—the funny folks behind Ren-centric Star Wars: The Force Awakens outtakes, scoreless Star Wars, and a rather prescient fake trailer for Terminator: Genisys—dropped a Kylo Ren reaction video that gets heated.
Ren goes from genuinely intrigued to sassy to angry to petty. He really is an angsty teen. He’s pretty amused by the measly “magic stick” waved around by Donnie Yen’s Chirrut Îmwe. But Ren has had it up to his bulky mask in bullshit by the time the end of the trailer arrives and “grandfather” appears. He is, of course, reacting to the sight of Darth Vader, the grandpop he loves far too much. “Wait, who’s playing Grandfather?!” he exclaims. “Is that Hayden?!” Hayden wishes, frankly. The mere thought that it could be Hayden Christensen playing Darth Vader sends Ren into a violent tailspin, which is relatable as fuck. But alas, Christensen is probably off killing undead Nazis somewhere in the land of bad action movies, where he belongs.
