Randy Blythe, the Lamb Of God frontman charged with manslaughter last year in the Czech Republic, has been acquitted. Prosecutors have eight days to appeal the decision, which they say they still plan to do.
Blythe was accused of causing the 2010 death of 19-year-old fan Daniel Nosek, who prosecutors say jumped on stage at a Lamb Of God Show, whereupon Blythe pushed him off. Nosek later died of head injuries sustained in the fall.
Blythe already served quite a bit of time in Czech jail last summer, after prosecutors challenged his bail requirements. After spending 38 days behind bars, he was released after posting $400,000 bail, on the condition he return to the country to stand trial.
In his closing statement, Blythe said he would make sure the conditions that led to Nosek’s death would never happen again—not only at Lamb Of God shows, but at any concert in the future.
