Lamb Of God tour cancelled as singer remains in Czech jail
With Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe still in a Prague jail and facing manslaughter charges, the band’s upcoming tour with cartoon metal band Dethklok and non-cartoon metal band Gojira has been cancelled. The tour was scheduled to kick off Aug. 1 in Seattle. A statement released by the band says, “The uncertainty of Randy’s release makes it impossible to carry on with the tour. Upon Randy’s release, it is the band’s intention to rebook a tour in the fall.” Point-of-purchase refunds are being offered to anyone who bought tickets to the dates.
Blythe has been in jail for about a month now, after he was arrested while on tour in Europe. The charges stem from an incident at a 2010 concert where he pushed a fan off the stage, causing him to fall on his head and later die. While Blythe's bail has been set at $400,000, the prosecution is challenging the ruling, meaning he has to stay behind bars for a little longer. Meanwhile, Lamb Of God is soliciting donations for his defense.
