The big-screen remake of Sid and Marty Krofft's beloved (?) kids' show Land Of The Lost is finally starting production this March, and as rumored Will Ferrell will star as the disgraced paleontologist who—along with his assistant and a "macho tour guide"—finds himself in a strange prehistoric world still inhabited by dinosaurs, monkey-human hybrids, and those villainous reptilian Sleestaks. Universal moving forward on the $100 million adaptation comes as a bit of a surprise considering the studio's last high-concept "event comedy" with an inflated budget, Evan Almighty, did such abysmal numbers, but obviously producers have faith that audiences will flock in record droves to see Ferrell having extended, awkward meta-conversations while occasionally stepping in dinosaur shit.
