Last Jedi star Kelly Marie Tran now just showing up behind people, becoming their friends

Though most people seem to be saving their heated discussions of The Last Jedi for the web, one of the film’s stars, Kelly Marie Tran, just gave a pretty good reason to take your film dissection out into the world. It turns out, if you mention her character Rose Tico by name, she might just show up and become your new friend like some kind of less-murdery Candy Man.

“A few days ago, I was at a pub eating pie with a friend, when this DELIGHTFUL group of people came in. They sat down at the table next to me and started discussing The Last Jedi,” Tran wrote in the caption of an Instagram video her friend took while they both eavesdropped on the conversation as it turned to a discussion of Tran’s character Rose, the scrappy mechanic turned rebel hero. “After lots of creepy listening…I awkwardly walked over to introduce myself. They couldn’t be more lovely.” Check it out below:

In addition to her impressive performance in the new Star Wars installment, Tran has also appeared recently as The Most Excited Person At A Star Wars Premiere That Also Happens To Be In Star Wars.

The 28-year-old actress certainly doesn’t keep her gratitude and enthusiasm a secret, and continued to express her love for what she does in the remainder of her lengthy Instagram post. “I know how lucky I am to be a part of something that people love, to be able to act and tell stories at all. And one of my greatest joys has been creepily listening to conversations about TLJ when I’m out and about.” So, next time you and your friends are sharing your hot takes on Kylo Ren or Porg consumption, be sure to mention Rose Tico a few times and see who shows up for a group photo.
