Lauren Graham to adapt her novel into a TV show with the help of Ellen DeGeneres

After surprising everyone by writing a novel that not only was popular, but well, kind of good, Lauren Graham is moving on to writing for the small screen as well. Deadline reports that Graham has signed a deal with Warner Bros. to adapt her bestselling book Someday, Someday, Maybe into a television series. Graham will pen the script for the hour-long drama, which will be produced by Ellen DeGeneres under her company, A Very Good Production. The novel follows a young woman named Franny who has just a few months left in her three-year plan to become a successful actress. (Diane Keaton, for one, called the book “warm and funny, charming and smart.”) Literary success and the chance to be a part of another popular television franchise? Rory would be so proud.
