Laurence Fishburne to glare at more serial killers on Hannibal

Bryan Fuller's Hannibal already has its core buddy-cop-and-cannibal duo in Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen, but it still needed a brusque man of authority to oversee and occasionally berate them, such as barking, "You two are loose cannons!" while Mikkelsen burps up a finger. So enter Laurence Fishburne, who joins NBC's look at Hannibal Lecter's (very narrowly defined) early years as Jack Crawford, the head of the FBI's behavioral sciences unit who takes a bold stance against serial killers, refusing to like them even a little bit. Fishburne inherits a role previously inhabited by the worst hot tub party ever of Scott Glenn, Dennis Farina, and Harvey Keitel, and—thanks to his tenure on CSI—brings to the table plenty of experience with looking at corpses and frowning.
