Lauryn Hill cancels and/or postpones a bunch of tour dates

Lauryn Hill has long had a relationship with tour dates and public appearances that might best be described as “Morrissey-esque”; over the last 20 years, the former Fugees star has been primarily known for two things: Staggeringly beautiful performances when she actually makes it to, and completes, a concert, and the sheer number of times where that former condition never actually manages to occur.

As such, it’s not entirely surprising to learn, courtesy of Pitchfork, that Hill’s latest tour, celebrating the 20th anniversary of her groundbreaking solo debut, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, has now had several dates sloughed off of its schedule. Live Nation is citing “unforseen production issues” as the reason for the canceled dates, which were set to take place in North Carolina, New Jersey, Florida, and Virginia in July and August. Other shows, set for Nashville, Miami, and Atlanta have been rescheduled for later in the year. (You can see the updated schedule here.) Hill’s current tour (which we managed to catch, and love, at this year’s Pitchfork Fest) is still scheduled to pick back up in September in Las Vegas, although, ya know, we’ll see.
