Law And Order: Los Angeles might feature Lindsay Lohan and Mel Gibson episodes

The opening of an L.A. branch of Law And Order raises the inevitable question of whether the show—which so often revolves around stories ripped from the headlines—will deal primarily with celebrity crimes. When asked about that at the recent network upfronts, creator Dick Wolf said well, duh: “That’s part of the L.A. landscape. So we won’t have celebrities every week, but we cannot avoid that. I would not sit up here and tell you that we are not going to do stories that are in headlines all over the world.”

So does this mean we’ll see episodes involving thinly veiled versions of Lindsay Lohan and Mel Gibson, crying and panting, respectively, in Terrence Howard’s face? Wolf coyly hinted that it’s possible, saying, “Well, we’ve had O.J. I always say that we steal the headlines, not the body count.” Now that Lohan has been released once more into the wild, her episode even has a happy ending, with the newly cleaned-up starlet triumphantly returning to the recording studio to unleash all the introspective songs she composed during her Twizzler-fueled incarceration. And lest we forget, L&O has already tackled Mel Gibson once before; who wouldn’t want to see what sort of gravitas Chevy Chase brings to a line like, “You should blow me before the jacuzzi”?
