LCD Soundsystem reportedly cancels Asian tour to get started on a new album
LCD Soundsystem’s fans aren’t the only ones hankering for a new album—the band’s also anxious to get back into the studio, as evinced by the cancellation of its upcoming Asian tour dates. According to Paste Magazine, the organizers of the Clockenflap Festival in Hong Kong first shared the news of the canceled tour dates earlier this month, attributing the band’s absence to “scheduling conflict related to their new album.”
LCD Soundsystem hasn’t commented on the matter yet. The group recently reunited after a five-year break, and frontman James Murphy hinted at a new album release in 2016, while also shrugging off the “cynical” response to the band’s return. But while no one expected the band to just stop touring to hightail it back to the recording booth, that appears to be what’s happened.
