The Walking Dead doesn’t return to AMC until the fall, but as the network’s highest-rated show that keeps on climbing, more detailed examinations of the production keep coming out. Zombified collects behind-the-scenes featurettes and combines that with an interactive feature to provide as much information on the extras who play walkers on the show as possible. Scrolling down starts the animated sequence, as an actor becomes a walker, moving through panels with Pop-Up Video-style details about the production and integrated links to AMC’s Inside The Walking Dead behind-the-scenes videos. It features information on executive producer and zombie special effects veteran Greg Nicotero and the extensive makeup sessions that create custom dentures and contact lenses for each extra that plays a walker. The interactive feature goes through every step of the zombie creation process, from casting to costume design to a top-secret recipe for the zombie blood used on the show.
