Lee Pace, guy who is not Lee Pace join The Hobbit

After the departure of actor Rob Kazinsky dealt what is surely the most serious blow Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit has sustained so far, the production has somehow picked up the pieces, hiring New Zealander Dean O’Gorman to play the role of dwarf Fili in Kazinsky’s stead. Joining O’Gorman in his quest to not be crushed by a meteor: Former Pushing Daisies star Lee Pace, who will play the Elven King Thranduil—marking Pace’s second big franchise gig, after he landed the role of Garrett in the Twilight: Breaking Dawn films. Thranduil, by the way, is the father to Legolas, who (as previously reported) will once again be played by Orlando Bloom through some sort of timeline-warping or flashback/flashforward structure that hasn’t been detailed yet, or possibly by Bloom appearing as one of Pace’s talking sperm. That's the magic of movies! UPDATE: It's been brought to my attention that Legolas actually does exist during the timeline of The Hobbit, and also that elves are immortal—or at least pretty old and immune to aging or something or whatever—so the discrepancies in the actors' ages are apparently not such a big deal. Anyway, apologies, and thank you all for easily the nerdiest retraction I have ever written.
