Legion takes a bow (for now)

Legion takes a bow (for now)

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Wednesday, March 29. All times are Eastern.

Top card

Legion (FX, 10 p.m.): FX has a history of sharing frustratingly vague but entirely accurate synopses for upcoming Legion episodes. Case in point: The season finale, “Chapter 8,” is summed up with “David faces his biggest challenge yet.” But let’s face it, even if the descriptions were more than just a handful of words, we’d still have a hard time following the inner-workings of David Haller’s mind. Things have become somewhat clearer in recent weeks, though, leading to a big confrontation between the Summerland group and Division 3. Alex McLevy will harness his super-reviewing powers to help you make sense of the end of season one.

Harlots (Hulu, 3:01 a.m.): Genevieve Valentine kicks off weekly reviews of this period drama about sex, power, and religious fervor in 18th-century London. She may or may not wear a powdered wig while doing so.

Regular coverage:

Arrow (The CW, 8 p.m.)
The 100 (The CW, 9 p.m.)
Empire (Fox, 9 p.m.)
The Magicians (Syfy, 9 p.m.)
Designated Survivor (ABC, 10 p.m.)
The Expanse (Syfy, 10 p.m.)
Underground (WGN, 10 p.m.)

Wild card

Greenleaf (OWN, 10 p.m.): Keith David and Lynn Whitfield lead this family drama from Craig Wright, which is now in its second season. The series follows the Greenleaf family, one of Memphis’ most prominent. The family business is a megachurch, which makes all the intrigue and secrets that surround the family that much more salacious. But all the scandalous moments are grounded by great performances from Keith David, Lynn Whitfield, and Merle Dandridge, who plays not-so-beatific pastor Grace. Tonight’s episode sees Grace dealing with the consequences of a rash decision, with little support from her family.
