Legion's third season will be its last
[Spoilers for Legion’s second season below.]
Legion’s second season left us feeling, in a word, betrayed. Not only was David’s heel turn executed in a way that the show doesn’t feel equipped to handle, but, as we noted in our season two wrap-up, this latest batch of episodes discarded “so much of our understanding of, and connection to, what’s come before it out the window, that it feels more like a reset than a cliffhanger.” Still, we’re intrigued to see how the Marvel series addresses that seismic, controversial finale in its upcoming third season, which, it turns out, will be its last.
FX CEO John Landgraf confirmed as much at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Monday, with creator Noah Hawley adding that he had always envisioned the Marvel adaptation, which follows a man’s discovery and mastery of his mutant powers, unfolding across three seasons.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Legion’s third season will kick off this June. Shit, we imagine, is going to get dark.
