Leslie Jones’ website hacked, personal information leaked in vicious online attack

Leslie Jones has been the victim of even more horrendous, racist harassment online. TMZ reports that her personal website has been hacked, and the perpetrators posted what appeared to be her driver’s license, her passport, naked photos, and a video of Harambe, the gorilla from the Cincinnati Zoo that was killed earlier this year. According to The New York Times, “the address on the driver’s license appeared to correspond with information about Ms. Jones that is available through public records.” The website has since been taken down. The A.V. Club reached out to a lawyer for Jones and has not yet heard back.

Earlier this summer, following the release of Ghostbusters, Jones was subjected to vile abuse on Twitter, which she highlighted in a series of posts on the platform. After receiving criticism for allowing this to go unchecked, Twitter banned some users, including Breitbart’s Milo Yiannopoulos.

Jones recently was in Rio, where she was documenting the Olympics on social media.
