Less than a week after Liam Gallagher announced that he was suing Noel Gallagher for besmirching his character, the former Oasis singer has called off his lawsuit against his brother and former guitarist because he finally got the apology he was looking for. The brief legal skirmish was sparked by a press conference last month where Noel claimed that Liam backed out of a 2009 festival gig because he was hungover. In a fan webchat, Noel admitted that "it is a fact that he was diagnosed with laryngitis and it is a fact that he had a doctor's note to prove it. But I'd just like to say though, if he gets offended by my opinions on such things then you know I apologize but it's all getting very silly and a little bit out of hand and it’s not very cool." That's not exactly an apology, but it apparently satisfied Liam, who can now get back to the business of making "Beady Eye music, mate." [Via Pitchfork]
