Lifetime has chosen tonight to sow its Wild Oats

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Monday, August 22. All times are Eastern.

Top picks

WWE Monday Night RAW (USA, 8 p.m.): All Kyle Fowle expects of this is for it to be better than last week’s episode of RAW. At least, he hopes. It honestly probably depends on how SummerSlam went and how many more Superstars have been suspended between the time your friendly neighborhood What’s On Tonight contributor wrote this blurb and this particular episode of RAW.

Guilt (Freeform, 9 p.m.): Guilt ends its first season with “What Did You Do?” Not to be confused with the City High song “What Would You Do?” or even the Marc Summers-hosted, Nickelodeon series also of that same name. (’90s kids, are we right?) Because, like we said, it’s called “What DID You Do?”—reading comprehension. So, in this episode of Guilt: “The crown prosecutor is convinced that Grace Atwood killed her flatmate Molly Ryan and now it’s in the hands of the jury. As the jury deliberates Grace’s fate, Detectives Bruno and Pike rush to uncover who is behind the Hertfordshire murder and if the two cases are related. To buy time, Stan and Natalie try and postpone the court proceedings, not knowing that Grace has an escape plan of her own in motion.” Whatever the verdict is, that last bit confirms one thing: Grace is a dummy. Yeah.

Wild Oats (Lifetime, 10 p.m.): Demi Moore! Jessica Lange! Shirley MacLaine! Billy Connolly! Alan Arkin! All right, you’ve got our attention, Lifetime. “When a woman accidentally receives a life insurance check for $5,000,000 instead of $50,000, her friend convinces her to keep the money and they both end up on a mad dash toward the Canary Islands.” Aww, yeah. Get it, girls. Yes—it.

Premieres and finales

Food Network Star Kids (Food Network, 8 p.m.): Oh great, Tia Mowry isn’t done trying to force cooking on people. (Your What’s On Tonight contributor kind of misses writing Tia Mowry At Home blurbs, now that she thinks about it.) “Hosted by actress-turned-food celebrity Tia Mowry and popular food writer, photographer and social media star Donal Skehan, Star Kids features 10 talented junior finalists participating in a variety of culinary, on-camera and social media challenges over six episodes, for the chance to become the first-ever Food Network Star Kids winner, walking away with their own series on FoodNetwork.com and a feature in Food Network Magazine.” “Actress-turned-food celebrity,” you guys? Come on!

Teen Mom (MTV, 9 p.m.): So begins Teen Mom’s 15th season, and there are still teen moms. Way to go, MTV. “Put A Ring On It,” the episode says. We’re going to be teens forever, the episode says. Fine, we’ll admit it—the episode definitely says that first thing. We’re about 50/50 on whether or not the 15-season Teen Moms will be teens forever. But in a way, won’t they? (This isn’t deep at all, just keep scrolling.)

Too Close To Home (TLC, 9 p.m.): Whatever this is, it makes us think of Too Close For Comfort, which of course makes us think of this:

Thanks, TLC. For all two hours of whatever this new show is. (It turns out, it’s actually a Tyler Perry drama.)

Cheer Squad (Freeform, 10 p.m.): The series premiere of reality series Cheer Squad is “Building A New Dream Team,” which, to us, sounds an awful lot like something Hellcats would do. Remember Hellcats? Now you do. “When the Summer Games in Rio come to an end the real sporting drama begins!” This sounds like an insult of some kind, so… Good luck with that, Cheer Squad and Freeform.

Streaming pick

Sugar & Spice (Amazon Video/YouTube/iTunes/Google Play): This movie has both a teen mom and cheerleading. What’s On Tonight-based synergy!
