Lil Dicky recruits Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, every other famous person for Earth Day jam
Viral rapper Lil Dicky has created this generation’s “We Are The World,” corralling roughly 30 artists for an Earth Day single that raises money for charity while taking the crown for the year’s most colossally stupid song. Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Halsey, Katy Perry, and Kevin Hart are just a handful of the names on “Earth,” which renders these titans of the industry as various animals shouting about their asses.
Still, it’s a herculean effort, with Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat’s production set against a gorgeous How To Train Your Dragon-style video that director Tony Yacenda bookends with some Lil Dicky comedy, a plea to believe in the realities of climate change, and, hey, a Leonardo DiCaprio cameo. DiCaprio’s foundation, see, is helping decide what charity the song’s profits will benefit.
