Lil Wayne plans to retire at the ripe old age of 35
When pop stars start talking retirement, it's usually the first step in plotting a highly lucrative "comeback." So you're excused for thinking that Lil Wayne is getting an early start on laying the groundwork for his own version of Kingdom Come in 2020. But for the record: Wayne told GQ that he plans to retire from music when he's 35, which would be six years from now. But why would one of the most popular MCs in hip-hop give it all up? "Basically, I have been doing this for 18 years, that's reason number one," Wayne said. "I have accomplished all that I have set out to accomplish and more. Six years I can do this Lil Wayne thing, and my boys will be about 7 and 8 years old. And man, it's all about them then. Whatever they're into." Can we at least get a record as great as The Black Album before this "retirement," Wayne? [via NME]
