At this point, it’s doubtful whether Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V will ever come out, considering Cash Money Records has held the record in limbo for so long that Wayne claimed he’s being held creative prisoner. But Weezy still has to stay active, vital, and in fans’ minds, so he’s still releasing new material. His latest mixtape, Sorry 4 The Wait 2, just hit the net and is ostensibly a sequel to Sorry 4 The Wait, a mixtape he released after his last record, Tha Carter IV, was indefinitely delayed. Featuring Wayne rapping over a bunch of tracks that were popular in 2014, The Wait 2 also has guest appearances from Drake, 2 Chainz, and Christina Milian. And while it’s certainly not Tha Carter V, it’ll have to do for now.
