Lil Wayne wrote an album of "love" songs while in prison
While most people spending eight months in prison might take to arts and crafts or catch up on some light reading, most people aren’t Lil Wayne. The ever-ridiculous/brilliant rapper recently told MTV that in addition to penning the upcoming Gone Till November while locked up at Rikers Island in 2010, he also wrote an album of love songs. He plans on calling it Devol—or “loved” spelled backwards. Oh, and for some reason it’s pronounced “devil.”
No release date has been given for Wayne’s latest prison-inspired opus, but he does drop a clue as to what listeners can expect: “It’s my version of love songs. And what I mean by ‘my version of love songs’ is that they’re not saying, ‘I love you.’ They’re saying…you know.” Oh, we know, Lil Wayne. We know. [Pitchfork]
