Lin-Manuel Miranda to host SNL, likely rap about history

Lin-Manuel Miranda will host Saturday Night Live next weekend, ensuring there will be at least one Hamilton-related sketch this coming season. (Let’s face it there will probably be many.) The show announced on its Twitter account that he will be on hand for the October 8 episode alongside musical guest Twenty One Pilots.

Will Miranda probably write his own monologue? Just you wait. Will it be in rhyme? We assume. Will the cast appear in 18th-century garb? Probably. Honestly, people would probably be happy if he just performed the entirety of his award-winning musical and passed on the whole sketch comedy thing. That likely won’t happen, but more Hamilton is coming in the form of a PBS documentary at the end of the month.

The 42nd season of SNL starts this Saturday with Margot Robbie and The Weeknd.
