Lindsay Lohan’s dream cast for Disney’s Little Mermaid remake includes Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan has been using Instagram of late to highlight her visit with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and tout a trip to the United Nations. She’s also employing the platform to not-so-subtly hint that Disney should cast her in the studio’s live action remake of The Little Mermaid. Needless to say, perusing her account these days is a bit surreal. Lohan—who, remember, also has a treatment for a Mean Girls sequel in her back pocket—posted a split-screen comparing herself to Ariel.
Though now the image is simply adorned with the hashtag ”#thelittlemermaid,” Entertainment Weekly reports that Lohan initially had composed a longer caption in which she said she would take on the role if Bill Condon—who is behind the upcoming Beauty And The Beast—were to sign on as director. “I will sing again, as #ariel #thelittlemermaid [if] @Disney approve that #billcondon directs it,” she had written. A source told EW that Lohan “wants to do” the movie, but considering Disney has yet to weigh in, it appears like the desire is unrequited.
