Lindsay Lohan starring in articles about starring as Elizabeth Taylor
Now that Lindsay Lohan is triumphantly back in the public eye, like the phoenix poking its Photoshopped nipples out of the ashes, the time has come for the actress to return to doing what she does best: impersonating classic actresses and appearing in news stories suggesting she might actually be hired for a movie. Today comes word that Lohan is “in early talks” to play the lead in Lifetime’s Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story, pretending to be Elizabeth Taylor in what sounds like an ideal premise for an Interview Magazine photo shoot, but which seems likely to fall apart as soon as things such as scripts and call times are introduced. Nevertheless, Deadline notes that there is a “physical resemblance” between the two, as both Elizabeth Taylor and Lindsay Lohan were bipedal and kept their lungs on the insides of their bodies, and also quotes a 2004 Slate story that lists other uncanny similarities, such as “both had domineering stage mothers, little semblance of a real childhood, fame from a young age, substance abuse issues, public emotional outpourings, and copious amounts of tabloid drama.” Of course, there are also subtle differences to overcome, such as prison stints and also hair color, but these are the demands of losing oneself in a role that exists mostly hypothetically.
