Listen to 12 hours of engine noise from Battlestar Galactica
Fans of ’70s-era sci-fi and ambient white noise rejoice! Someone has looped together 12 hours of just the sound of the engine from the original Battlestar Galactica. This is 12 hours of background noise of the ship’s idling engine, which uploader crysknife007 says is ”[g]reat for relaxing, meditating, drowning out other annoying noises, or pretending you are in deep space.” If that’s not enough ambient sci-fi noise, crysknife007 has also uploaded sounds of the Enterprise’s idling engine from Star Trek: The Next Generation — but for 24 hours instead of a measly 12. Whether listeners prefer the gentle humming of a warp core or a FTL drive, the Internet has many, many hours devoted to lulling them into a zen-like state.
