John Davis was once one-half of The Folk Implosion, but it’s been 15 years since he last released an album. Now, he’s back with Spare Parts, out Oct. 29 on Shrimper, and The A.V. Club has the premiere of the record’s new single, “Masoch.” The almost six minute song is a big departure from Davis’ previous work in the sense that he’s gone from working completely alone to collaborating with a number of other people, but the result is still that spare, singer-songwriter fare that fans pine for.
