Listen to an exclusive track from The Hotelier’s upcoming sophomore album
Worcester, Massachusetts quartet The Hotelier (formerly The Hotel Year) will release its second full-length album, Home Like Noplace Is There, on February 18 via Tiny Engines (Somos, Little Big League). Interested parties should check out bassist/vocalist Christian Holden's lengthy Tumblr post that provides some insight into the record, the band’s history, and its rocky relationship with poorly run startup labels to this point when announcing the album, including a gem about “all the jock punk bro dweebs who write revenge songs for people who broke their hearts…. I mean, I understand they have complicated personalities but they still aren’t at all fun to be around.”
Below, you can take a listen to the exclusive premiere of “Your Deep Rest,” one of the best songs from the record. Bands and fans alike cringe at the phrase “emo revival,” but with music as catchy and propulsive as this, it doesn’t have to be a pejorative. The album can be pre-ordered here, either digitally or as part of an initial vinyl pressing in four different colors.
