Listen to Keaton Henson's new album, Birthdays, in its entirety
Keaton Henson’s new record, Birthdays, isn’t out until April 9, but The A.V. Club is streaming it exclusively starting today. The record, produced by Joe Chiccarelli (The White Stripes, The Strokes, The Shins), is the singer-songwriter’s second, but his first with Anti-. The 24-year-old British singer-songwriter has drawn comparisons to Nick Drake, Tim Buckley, but tracks like “Lying To You” and “Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us” sound crisper and more sonically complex than any material those two ever produced. If anything, they’re a little more Bon Iver than Buckley.
Henson’s first ever show show in the U.S. happens April 8 at Housing Works in New York City. He plays the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in L.A. April 11.
