Listen to Too $hort's new gelt-riddled, schmaltz-laden rap about Hanukkah
After being convinced last year—by TMZ of all place—that the world needs more Hanukkah songs, Bay Area rapper Too $hort has come through with a brisket-laden gem. The untitled two-minute song has everything a yarmulke-wearing hip-hop fan could want, from laid-back, soul-infused beats to gelt and schmaltz references. According to Too $hort, he’s spending his eight crazy nights “fryin’ latkes” and “making a mess with some Jewish girls pinchin’ tuckus,” and frankly, we’re inclined to believe him. After all, only a rapper with some serious knowledge of the chosen people could drop so much science about “Judah Maccabiatch.”
