Listen to two tracks from Vampire Weekend's new record, Modern Vampires Of The City
Modern Vampires Of The City won’t be out until May 7, but Vampire Weekend has released two of the album’s tracks about six weeks out. Though they contain many of the New York band’s signature Afro-pop elements, “Diane Young” and “Step” are significantly different from each other, with “Diane” coming in markedly upbeat and “Step” being an exercise in hazy zoning out.
Both tracks will be released as part of a limited-edition 7-inch available April 9, and “Diane Young” will be instantly available as a download to VW fans who pre-order Modern Vampires starting tomorrow, March 19.
The band will also be touring the western part of the states this spring, making two stops at the Coachella festival. A full schedule of shows is below.
