Listen to "Walk Us Uptown," the first taste of Elvis Costello's collaboration with The Roots

Elvis Costello And The Roots’ collaborative album Wise Up Ghost comes out September 17 on Blue Note Records, and they’ve just debuted a lyric video for “Walk Us Uptown,” the first glimpse at what blossomed from a Record Store Day project to a full-length record. Costello’s lilting vocal hovers over a groovy bass rhythm and some punchy ?uestlove drumming, with a spinning record in the background of magazine cutout words flashing across the screen. They’ve also released the album cover, which pays homage to Allen Ginsberg’s Howl, mimicking the design of Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s City Lights Pocket Poets Series books.
