Lock up your daughters (or your feelings), Neutral Milk Hotel is playing some full-band shows
First there were the albums and some touring (1996-98), and then there was pretty much total radio silence for Neutral Milk Hotel for over a decade while the band's legend grew to monstrous proportions. Jeff Mangum broke his silence to rapturous reception in 2011, playing his band's songs solo-acoustic style around the world, but never really fleshing them out the way they sounded on On Avery Island and In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. Today, the band announced five shows, the first performances as Neutral Milk Hotel since October of 1998. Pitchfork is reporting that the lineup includes Mangum, Scott Spillane, Julian Koster, and Jeremy Barnes. (In other words, no scabs here.)
