Lodge 49 (AMC, 10 p.m.): Last week, Lodge 49’s spellbinding central siblings, Liz and Dud, stumbled into a long-simmering confrontation that promised to send both in new directions. For Dud, the direction involves some late nights, as he starts working the graveyard shift and, alongside Ernie, trying to solve the new Larry Loomis problem. If none of that made sense to you, it’s time to start watching this “bizarre and bewitching little show,” as Danette Chavez describes it. While difficult to categorize, it’s also proven difficult to shake, and the playful, emotionally rich performances alone make it well worth watching. Danette will be on hand to help you navigate the ins and outs of the Order Of The Lynx, Shamroxx, and any other institution into which this gem of a show might wander.

American Vandal (Netflix): It is with the profoundest pleasure that we remind you of the imminent arrival of the second season of American Vandal, Netflix’s pitch-perfect true-crime spoof, which is slated for release on Friday. If you’ve not yet asked yourself who “drew the dicks,” you have plenty of time to familiarize yourself with the series. While it’s totally possible to just start with the upcoming season’s mystery (that would be “Who is the turd burglar?”), we highly recommend starting at the beginning for the simplest and purest of reasons: It is a very good show. You’ve got four days. Enjoy.
