Logan is too cool for a post-credits stinger

Logan is a departure from the superhero genre in a number of ways. It’s an uberviolent but remarkably subtle character drama that provides an ending for a superhero franchise in an age when superhero franchises rarely seem to end. It also doesn’t feature a post-credits scene. In a recent interview, director James Mangold explained his reasoning for this, saying, “We were trying to make a movie that [began] and ended on its own terms. There was nothing else to say, because we had said it.” In the clip above, staffers Danette Chavez and Gwen Ihnat discuss this surprising omission and other ways Logan distinguishes itself from rest of the superhero pack.
