Touted as “Comic-Con for the music industry,” the first ever Wax Record Fair takes over the Capitol Records building in downtown Los Angeles on October 24 and 25. The brand new event hopes to attract casual music fans, serious collectors, and industry insiders alike by putting its focus on vinyl, the record-collecting culture, and the general “music lifestyle.” While Wax isn’t likely to attract quite as many cosplayers as Comic-Con, the event has plenty of its own draws, including artist signings, industry panels, and live DJ sets, as well as booths from both independent and major record labels, stores, and distributors. Featured vendors include: Capitol Records, Harvest Records, Blue Note, Virgin, Caroline Distribution, Astralwerks, Federal Prism, Innovative Leisure, Amoeba Music, Rockaway Records, Freakbeat Records, Soho Music, Double Nickels On The Dime Collective, and more.
