Lost’s Michael Emerson is coming to Arrow for more island drama

We still don’t know everybody who survived the island drama at the end of last season on The CW’s Arrow, but the show will be getting some help from a guy who knows a lot about island drama on its next season. As announced during Arrow‘s Comic-Con panel this weekend, Lost‘s Michael Emerson will be joining the cast as a mysterious, unnamed character. We know it will be a recurring role, so he’ll pop up more than once, but that’s all we know for sure. A press release says he’ll be a “person of interest,” but that’s probably just a dumb joke about the other show he was on and not a clue to his Arrow identity—though master hacker Cayden James, who was conveniently never shown last year despite being mentioned a bunch of times, seems like a pretty safe bet.

Aside from Emerson, recurring guest star David Nykl will also be sticking with the show, reprising his role as varyingly friendly/frustrating Russian gangster Anatoly Knyazev. It’s hard to say if that’s good or bad news for Team Arrow, but since there’s rarely any good news for Team Arrow ever, it would probably be wise to start bracing for Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen to piss off the Bratva again.
