Lou Reed’s estate is selling off a bunch of his old music gear

Eight months after Lou Reed’s death, his estate has decided to sell off some of his less-important musical gear. Reed’s more beloved guitars, amps, and effects will remain in the archives kept by his touring company, Sister Ray Enterprises, but some of his less-used, less-loved stuff is up now on eBay. So far, much of what’s been listed seems to be ancillary keyboards and rack effect units—things that Reed maybe didn’t have much personal use for, but nevertheless may be of interest to fans who would spend $1,200 for an acoustic preamp Reed maybe once touched.

Proceeds from the auction will go toward founding and funding the aforementioned Lou Reed Archive.
