Lou Reed has agreed to stop doing tai chi for five minutes and come to Austin as SXSW 2008's keynote speaker, offering fans and media types the chance to bask in the man's legendary warmth and loquaciousness in person. Also showing up as featured panelists this year are Thurston Moore, composer Steve Reich (yes!!!), and Daryl "Not The One With The Mustache" Hall, who is scheduled to perform a showcase that will be ruined by drunk jackasses shouting out "Maneater!" All of this is very exciting news to, um, me.
