Lou Reed to guest on Killers song

NME reports that The Killers have enlisted Lou Reed to sing on the band's new track "Tranquilize." The song, which is set to appear on The Killers' upcoming B-sides-and-rarities album, is "a rollercoaster," according to leader Brandon Flowers, who will duet with Reed. "The song was calling for a duet, and his voice was just right," Flowers elaborates. "There's a desperation to it. It's one of our more depressing songs, but there's always a light at the end of the tunnel."

Calls asking Flowers to actually name a Lou Reed or Velvet Underground song–that is, besides "Perfect Day" from Flowers' scratched-up, high-school copy of the Trainspotting soundtrack–have not been returned.
