Louis CK assures fans he can always make more Horace And Pete

While stumping for Horace And Pete in an Emmys bid the other day, Louis CK said that he could easily make more episodes—he just has to really want to. CK shared this information with a Deadline writer, assuring fans that he has “ideas on how to continue this series,” but he’ll only make more episodes if said ideas are “really compelling.”

Horace And Pete was quite the personal undertaking for CK, who wrote, directed, and starred in the webseries, as well as poured his own funds into it. But CK tells Deadline that he didn’t reach into another production company’s pockets for the project because he didn’t want to end up “committed” to another season if the series took off (which it did). CK didn’t drop any hints as to the direction season two would go in, but given the ending of the final episode, he’s got his work cut out for him. He doesn’t appear to be concerned about that, saying he “could do another decade.” But that’s no guarantee—CK says he’ll mull over a season two storyline this summer, “but if it doesn’t write, I’ll leave it alone. There’s no reason to go back.”

In addition to walking back his previous statement about the show being over, CK said that rumors of his debt (which he started) have been greatly exaggerated. He assured Deadline that Horace And Pete has been and is still “making money.” He’s even received offers from other platforms: “Everyday I make money on the show. If I take one of the offers, I’ll make a profit right away.” CK says his objective wasn’t to make money or garner acclaim, so we guess it’s nice that it worked out that way.
