Back before Donald Trump was actually the president, Louis CK called him Hitler in an email newsletter. For a while now, CK has maintained that he regretted that statement, a position he reiterated on The Late Show last night, though noted he wouldn’t “take it back.” However, he has refined his Trump-related thoughts, and, quite frankly, they are pretty succinct. “Now I guess he’s not as profound as I thought he was,” CK explained. “I thought he was some new kind of evil, but he’s just a lying sack of shit.”
CK went on to outline his taxonomy of people who engage in lying as a practice, the worst among them being the category to which Trump belongs. “It’s just gross,” he explained. “He’s just a gross, crook, dirty, rotten, lying sack of shit.” Taking that position, CK said, is not ”political” because “that’s what the guy is”—the comedian admits it’s not a particularly revelatory stance.
