Love kills in these exclusive clips from Sad Vacation: The Last Days Of Sid And Nancy

Thirty years after the release of Alex Cox’s Sid and Nancy, punk rockers are still fascinated by the heroin-addled Camelot of Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, the woman who allegedly introduced Sid to the drug. Sad Vacation: The Last Days Of Sid And Nancy, from filmmaker Danny Garcia, is a new documentary that collects interviews from friends and fellow musicians, some of whom, according to the film’s Indiegogo page, “actually liked Nancy as a friend and as a human being.”

The A.V Club was granted a pair of exclusive clips—the second of which is NSFW, so watch out—from the upcoming documentary, which apparently doesn’t include any of those people:

Garcia has tackled other punk rock luminaries before, namely The Clash in The Rise And Fall Of The Clash and Johnny Thunders in Looking For Johnny. However, the question remains: why make another film about them now? There are now more films and documentaries about Sid Vicious and the Sex Pistols than there are Sex Pistols studio albums.

“There’s still a lot of unanswered questions regarding the night of Nancy’s death and Sid’s alleged overdose. Recent books and films offer different theories about their mysterious deaths, “ explains the film’s Indiegogo page. “We’ll examine those theories and offer you all the evidence we’ve gathered for you to judge. While speaking to website Love Kills, Garcia added “Both [Sid’s] look and that ‘fuck you’ attitude can be very inspirational for kids today as it was 35 years ago.”
