Lucifer ends on a zing and a prayer

Here’s what’s up in the world of television for Monday, May 29. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Lucifer (Fox, 9:01 p.m.): Not only did it get renewed for a third season, but Lucifer pulled one of the more striking course corrections of any show this year, going from a first season of mostly dumb, uneven storytelling to a sophomore surprise of devilishly good fun. Tonight is the conclusion of all the fire and brimstone in this creative resurgence, and LaToya Ferguson will be there to tally up the body count.

Regular coverage

WWE Monday Night Raw (USA, 8 p.m.)
Gotham (Fox, 8 p.m.)
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix)

Wild card

The Bachelorette (ABC, 8 p.m.): The Bachelorette (along with its lunkheaded forebear The Bachelor) is sports for people who hate sports. You pick your home team—or contestant, as it were—and root for them in this very silly and disposable adventure, with each season a new chance to place bets, holler at the screen, and make jokes with your friends. Now that the overstuffed premiere is over and the 10 extraneous nobodies have been sent home, this second episode gets down to business with the actual competitors vying for Rachel’s hand. Let the macho posturing commence!
